Quiz Time
There’s nothing a Brit likes more than a good quiz night down the pub. The Brits here in Spain are no different — welcome to my quiz world.
It all started for me back at my old pub, The York Hotel in Morecambe.
One Thursday night, with one customer, a dog, and £54 in the till, I had a bit of a eureka moment — start a quiz.
So I did.
It took off slowly at first, but thanks to some great locals it became the place to be on a Thursday night. Before long we were packing in 20 teams and standing room only.
It was one of the tricks I had up my sleeve when I hit the Costa Blanca.
Then… tumbleweed.
There were already plenty of quiz nights and afternoons around, and it felt like a bit of a closed shop. Hard to break into.

But I stuck at it.
Eventually I landed a regular quiz gig at Sandra’s Bar in Jávea (now sadly closed)… and then Covid came along and shut everything down.
Early on, I even managed to get a quiz going in one of the local village bars — more on that when I cover Casa Rosita in my Bars of Jesús Pobre section.
It felt like a long road back, but in 2022 things got going again — and since then, I haven’t looked back.
It’s led to karaoke hosting, DJ work, private parties… and a long-running music quiz night, which has really hit the mark.

This page is where I’ll share those nights — photos, video clips, and a few stories along the way.
Hopefully you’ll find something useful… or at least entertaining.
But before you go…
Here’s a little conundrum:
👉 Which came first — ABBA or Queen with their first UK chart hit?
Got the answer? Drop it in the comments… or come along and try your luck in person.
My Quiz Nights
This is where I will let you know what I have coming up over the year - You’ll also find upcoming quiz nights and venues as I go.
HERE is a sneak look inside my regular Music Quiz in La Experiencia in Moraira.
